To create a town you will first require $5,000. Once you have this amount do /t new <name>
.
If you are invited to a town, do /t join <name>
to accept the invitation. If you are looking to invite someone to your town, do /town invite <name>
.
Once you create your town you will have the 16x16 chunk you were standing in at the time of creation claimed. Your town spawn will default to that location as well.
You can claim more land for your town with the command /town claim
which will claim the chunk you are standing inside and use /town unclaim
to remove the claim. All claims need to be connected to each other. You can check your claims with /towny map
.
Claiming chunks cost $200 per chunk and will cost $100 a day to upkeep. To check your town’s chunk limit and daily upkeep use /town
. More information regarding claiming land can be found in our Getting Started article.
New towns default to allowing all members of the town to build/destroy anywhere in the town. If you are inviting people to your town that you just met or don't trust, it is important to make sure the plots are setup correctly. You can disable all rank-less town members from being able to build or destroy by doing /t set perm off
, doing this will disable the ability to build or destroy for anyone in the town unless they possess Town Moderator rank or higher. You can see more in depth ways of setting up individual plots or town permissions by visiting the Plot Management article or the Town Management article.
Nations are a group of merged towns each with its own capital town and the mayor of the capital town is the leader of the nation (the king). Nations can be created for $50,000 by doing /n new <name>
.
Creating or joining a nation has multiple advantages. One of the benefits is the ability to teleport to allies nation spawns, making trading and traveling easier. Joining a nation also gives you extra claims for your own town (which can increase as the nation population increases), an increased outpost limit.
Towns in an alliance can help to defend the town when it's being sieged, but can also help attacking when sieging a town. Of course, a nation also has the option to remain peaceful and stay away from the danger zones.
Towns will not be disbanded until all town members have been offline for 60 days. However, if the mayor goes inactive for more than 60 days, mayorship will be given to the next eldest town member.
Sieges are a non-destructive and PvP oriented clash between two or more nations. Both attacking and defending nations fight with their allies to ultimately have the opportunity to occupy and plunder the enemy. With this comes many different strategies to unify, conquer, and be victorious in a siege war.
To siege someone all you need to do is make sure that the nation you're apart of is enemies with the nation of the town you're about to siege. To do this you can do /n enemy add <nation>
After making sure you're enemies with the opposing nation all you need to do is place a colored banner outside the enemy town and gain 50 points during the 10 minute siege assembly. The war chest will automatically place and begin the 72 hour siege.
On Earth, raiding land is only allowed if it is unclaimed. Raiding claimed land is a bannable offense - this includes if you have the town permissions (/t perm) to break land.
To make sure the land is not claimed, you can use /towny map
to show nearby claims and any that you're standing in.
