Welcome to the current ManaCube Faction Rules. When playing on Factions, you are expected to read and abide by these rules. "Not having read the rules" is not a valid excuse.
Breaking these rules may result in punishment and warning points given. Please refer to the Warning Points article for specific information.
These rules are not an exhaustive list of what is and isn’t allowed. They are subject to change and can be updated by staff at any time. Warnings are given at staff discretion. Players who clearly know what they are doing may not receive any warnings.
Finally, false reporting players or hindering a staff member’s ability to moderate will result in punishment.
WARNING: Rule Bending, misinterpreting, finding loopholes or warping the meaning of the rules for an advantage are not permitted. In such cases, the situation will be reviewed by higher staff and appropriate punishments will be given.
DISCLAIMER: All of the punishment paths provided are guides and may vary depending on the severity of the case.
Several rules explain what you cannot do with unclaimed land. Please note the list below:

Instances of encasing spawners include but are not limited to:
All spawners must be placed in vertical pillars with a minimum height of 5 blocks high. Spawner pillars must be a size of 5 or larger before creating a new pillar. Spawners must also have a minimum distance of 2 blocks away from any type of wall or ceiling, which includes base shells. All spawners must be easily ceggable.
You may not evade these rules by placing blocks around instead of on the spawners. This still counts as encasing and is punishable.
If the situation is found during a raid, the spawners will be given to the raiding faction.
If this occurs, your protections and protected spawners will be removed and appropriate punishment given. For Minor Encasing, a staff warning may be issued for the first offense. Cases of Major Vs. Minor encasing will be determined by staff.

For a punishment to be issued, the value stolen must be significant enough to affect the faction's value.
Items lost to insiding will only be returned if there is detailed proof on what was lost. If a player is kicked from a faction while in the base, that player may not immediately raid and must remove any set homes. They must leave the faction base as soon as they are removed.

Punishment | 7d Local Ban | Seasonal Ban | |
Warning Points | Warning points will be subject to the extent of insiding |
Factions may only have 1 main base where they store all their value and set their base chunk. Factions are allowed 1 corner claim but unless it is a main base, it can only be used for storage and bases that do not include spawners.
All faction bases must be a minimum of 3x3 chunks (9 total chunks) and a maximum size of 8x8 chunks (64 total chunks). Bases can have a maximum of 3 boxes to hold their spawners.

NOTE: Players cannot line their base walls with Magic Sand blocks because it generates an OP wall that regenerates.

Factions that claim land are allowed a maximum of 15 chunk claims away from their base on all sides. Buffer claims start at the first outside wall of the actual base.
In the case of two faction bases sharing the same area, they must both have their own base claimed. This includes their main base and buffer zone. One faction may not claim the buffer or main base for the other faction.
If you choose to make a gap between your base and the first wall, the gap cannot exceed 2 chunks in length.
There must be a gap of 40 chunks between all factions.[5] This gap begins from the end of a faction's buffer zone.
Any farms, counter-cannons or additional claims may not be used to exceed the buffer limit. If counter cannons are claimed during and after a raid, they must be unclaimed accordingly after the raid. More information can be found under Anti-Raid claims
If these limits are broken the following will apply.

When raiding a faction’s base, you’re allowed to place 1 raid claim. This claim must be between 2x2 chunks and 15x15 chunks in size. Raid claims may be expanded by a maximum of 5 chunks to account for the guider. Those chunks may only be used for the guider and cannot act as an overextension of your raid claim for cannons/defenses. You must claim all of your raid claims.[6]
Defenses built in the wilderness will result in a faction warning and if it continues players may be punished.
To allow for counter cannons you must leave a 7 chunk gap on one side of your raid claim. You may also receive warning points if your faction attempts to build non-claimed defenses in the defending faction’s cannon line-of-fire.
You are expected to remove your raid claim in a timely manner. Raid claims remaining more than 6 hours after the last shot fired by cannon may be subject to punishment.
WARNING: You must use
/f raidclaim (time) (radius)
to claim all Raid Claims. This creates a temporary raid claim that will auto-unclaim after a specified amount of time.

*If players refuse to unclaim after the staff warning, they will move onto the second offense.
When defending your base from a raiding faction, you’re allowed to place 1 anti-raid claim to aid in the destruction of the raiding faction’s cannons. This claim is only allowed to contain 1 counter-cannon and can NOT be used as extra walls or other defenses. It must not be any larger than 10x10 chunks.
Anti-Raid claims may be expanded by a maximum of 5 chunks to account for the guider. Those chunks may only be used for the guider and cannot act as an overextension of your raid claim for cannons/defenses.
You must claim your anti-raid claim, including the walls of your cannon box. The anti-raid claim of a faction cannot act as a continued buffer.[7]
Defenses built in the wilderness or in the raiding faction’s line-of-fire will result in a faction warning point, and if this is continued players may be punished.
You are expected to remove your anti-raid claim as soon as the enemy faction’s raid claims have been removed. Warning points/punishments may be issued if this is not done in a timely manner since your anti-raid claim will be reclassified as an overextension of your buffer claims.

They may not stay and watch the raid, share information to support the factions being raided/raiding or generally interfere with the raid. Spectating faction members must use /f stealth
to prevent disabling fly for defending and raiding factions.
These members may only spectate for a maximum of 5 minutes at a time, must then leave and can return 10 minutes later to spectate for another 5 minutes. This can continue for as long as the raid lasts.

Factions are not allowed to split to become two factions to exceed player limits or dominate F Top. If a faction does split, the two factions must remain completely separated for no punishments to be issued. If the act of splitting your faction would result in both appearing on F Top, then you will not be allowed to split.
You also cannot use an Alt Faction linked to your own faction to gain a second position on F Top, store TNT, or transfer people between the main and alt to increase party sizes. You must not accept people into your faction who have an Alt Faction.
Factions caught acting as one will be issued one warning point each and given 1 day to properly separate. Failure to comply will result in further punishments under staff discretion.
Factions may not merge during a season if either faction is on F-Top or would be placed on F-Top by the merge. They may only merge if the added f-top gain is removed by a Senior Staff.
This will be done at staff discretion and must be approved prior to merging.
In the case of an F-Top payout screenshot being taken while showing the merged value, the value will be deducted.
